Grading List Maintenance for Clubs

  • MySquash Player Subscriptions & Access

    Managing Club Member Access

All players must hold an active MySquash player subscription (Lifestyle, Competitive Adult, or Junior) to access MySquash and MySquash Competitions.

Depending on your club management system, MySquash access is granted differently:

    • Hello Club users: automatic activation/cancellation
    • Pay2Play users: API‑based syncing
    • Hello Club shell account users: manual activation/cancellation

Members without an existing profile will receive a welcome email prompting them to set up MySquash.

    a. Clubs Using Hello Club

    • Access is determined by club membership status.
    • New members automatically receive MySquash accounts; departing members are automatically cancelled.
    • If matching email addresses are used in both systems, players can switch profiles easily.

    b. Clubs Using Pay2Play

    • Members with the correct subscription tag are pushed into MySquash via API.
    • New tagged members receive an account and welcome email; cancelled members lose access automatically.

    c. Clubs Using a Hello Club Shell Account

    • Clubs must manually add new members to the shell account.
    • Clubs must manually remove MySquash access for departing members.
    • See separate page for how to manage your shell account.
  • Adding Players to the Grading List

Players must have an active Competitive Adult, Lifestyle or Junior subscription to appear on the grading list.

Once they have an active subscription, they will automatically be added to the grading list overnight. No further action is required from the club.

  • Moving Player to Your Club's Grading List

A player’s club in relation to eligibility for particular events is now the ‘Primary Club’, which is the club the player is on the grading list for.

A club can request a player to be transferred to their grading list through MySquash Competitions.

    1. Click Administration

    2. Click Club Transfer Request

    3. Type the name of the player to move

    4. Select your club from Transfer to Club

    5. Select Reason for Transfer. The options are,

    • Player is a full financial member at our club
    • Superchamps or other reprensentative event eligibility

    6. Enter your Club Role.

    7. Click Save.

This will send a form to your district administrator to action.

  • Player Codes

    • Clubs no longer create player codes manually.
    • Codes are automatically assigned when MySquash profiles are created. All new player codes are seven letters and begin with 'SQ', followed by their initials, followed by a random three-character word. For example John Smith may get the player code SQJSCAT.
    • Player codes remain static across clubs.
    • Players retain their player code if they are removed from the grading list and rejoin at a later date.
  • Starting Levels for New Players

Clubs or players record grading matches directly into MySquash Competitions.

The recommendation is to arrange 2–3 matches for new players before entering competitions, and record the results in MySquash Competitions using Manual Results with a 25% weighting or in Casual Results (also receives a 25% weighting).

The system uses SquashLevels to determine accurate initial levels.

Clubs may also email their district statistician and provide a starting level, however this is only a placeholder used for the purposes of placing them into a correct interclub team or draw in their first tournament. It may not necessarily reflect the actual SquashLevel the player will receive which will overwrite the placeholder Level once results are recorded and the Level calculated.

  • Manual Level Adjustments

    Clubs may request level corrections for players;

    • Returning from injury
    • Returning a long break from the sport
    • Wishing to permanently switch the hand they play with due to injury
    • Or cases where recorded levels are inaccurate for other reasons

Players must have a recent match showing in SquashLevels which can be adjusted if approved.

    Process:

    • Email district statistician with justification
    • District forwards approved cases to support@squashnz.co.nz
    • Squash NZ reviews and works with SquashLevels to have the level updated
  • Dual-Code Players

Some players maintain dual codes. Normally this is either due to a long-term injury, or a top player without competition locally that competes with their opposite hand for matchplay.

To create a second linked profile:

    1. Log in to MySquash
    2. Visit https://www.mysquash.nz/register
    3. Tick terms → Next
    4. Select Create new member profile
    5. Enter correct details using same email as their existing MySquash profile
    6. Prefix surname (e.g., John Lefthand‑Smith)
    7. Select Digital subscription
    8. Club emails support@squashnz.co.nz with name & DOB to allow grading list inclusion

If they have used the same email address to access both MySquash profiles, they will be able to easily toggle between the two using the profile switcher.

When entering tournaments or recording results, they will need to ensure they access MySquash Competitions from the correct profile otherwise they will be recorded incorrectly, impacting their Level.

  • Result Processing Timeline

Results may take up to two days to appear in MySquash:

    • Sent to SquashLevels daily at ~4pm
    • Returned to MySquash at ~3am

MySquash Competitions can now be used to run Racketball (Squash57) competitions or record casual Racketball match results. Individual Competitions, Team Competitions, Box Leagues and Ladders now have a ' Sport ' setting, allowing users to select 'Racketball'. Matches with this setting will automatically be excluded from SquashLevels. Development is currently underway to send these matches to the new Squash57Levels system, which will give Racketball players a local, national and international ranking . Any matches recorded prior to the feed going live will be retrospectively processed. As with SquashLevels, the more matches that are recorded, the more accurate the Levels for all Racketball players will be. All other steps to set up a Racketball competition are the same as for Squash, and can be found on the following pages, Individual Competitions for Club Admins Team Competitions for Club Admins Creating and Managing a Box League Creating and Managing a Ladder One-off Racketball matches can be recorded in the Casual Results page. These will also feed through to Squash57Levels.

There are no changes to the scoring rules and recommendations for 2026. Districts will set the scoring rules for local interclub competitions, while clubs set the scoring rules for their competitions and tournaments. The rules for national events and recommendations for all other events are as follows; Scoring All junior events will be played using PAR (point a rally) 11. Where a junior competes in a senior event the below ruling based on grading will take effect. We recommend using PAR (point a rally) to 11 scoring for higher graded players (roughly B1 and above), and to 15 for players graded roughly B2 and below. At national events, PAR to 11 scoring is used for; B Grade Superchamps, B Grade National Graded Champs, Cousins Shield / Mitchell Cup, NZ Masters Age Group Championships, NZ Masters Club Team Championships (top division only), All junior age group events, and the top divisions of open events. PAR to 15 scoring is used in grades C-F / J in Superchamps and the National Graded Champs, all divisions except Div 1 of the NZ Masters Club Team Championships, and where appropriate (using the guidelines above) for lower divisions of open events. The scoring system used should be the same for every player in a tournament grade / division.

Use Team Competitions to run internal team events (club pennants, business house leagues, intraclub team formats). Event organisers set the event’s rules . The module lets you: create and manage events; seed and export team lists; create or import draws; view ladders/results; apply live scoring; enter/edit results; send to the grading list; and auto‑update ladders.
